New Ford Bronco Sport, Mustang Mach-E Score High Marks in 2021 APEAL Study

Ford Bronco Sport | Shults Ford South

Earlier this year, J.D. Power released its 2021 APEAL Study and named the all-new Ford Bronco Sport and Mustang Mach-E two of its top honorees. The annual study measures the attachment new-vehicle owners have to their rides, so it’s no surprise to see two Ford superstars on the list.

The 2021 Ford Bronco Sport, which boasts standard 4×4 and a chic Bronco-inspired design, topped the APEAL Study in the Small SUV category. In a bit of beautiful irony, the Bronco Sport outranked onetime rival the Chevrolet Trailblazer, which ranked a distant third.

In the Compact SUV segment, the all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E electrified customers to earn the top spot in the segment. The Mustang Mach-E has been one of the most popular new vehicles in the Ford lineup thanks to its impressive range, power, styling, and technology.

“Ford very much believes in listening to its customers,” said Chris Brewer, executive director, quality, Ford Motor Company. “These vehicles were created to delight and impress them every time they get behind the wheel. We’re honored by this award. It tells us we’re delivering on their wants and needs.”

The all-new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport and Mustang Mach-E both earned top honors in the new APEAL Study because customers love them. To see for yourself, contact the team at Shults Ford South and we’ll set you up with a test drive in either or both of these amazing vehicles.

HOSS System Makes Ford Bronco, Bronco Sport Beastly

Ford Bronco | Ford Bronco Sport | Pittsburgh, PA

When you think of the word hoss, you think of something robust, powerful, strong. All of these words accurately describe the High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension — or HOSS — which underpins the all-new, all-exciting 2021 Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport.

With the HOSS system, the Bronco lineup has go-anywhere, do-anything capability and confidence. Features like an independent front suspension and heavy-duty dampers give these off-road SUVs the durability you need to go over any type of terrain. Pair the HOSS system with Terrain Management System™ and G.O.A.T. Modes™ as well as standard 4×4 capabilities across the range, and you’ve got a beast of a whole different stripe.

“We listened to what off-road enthusiasts wanted in terms of capability and control — and heard a lot about what could be improved in the current off-road SUV offerings — namely harsh ride, sloppy steering, and discomfort above crawling speeds,” said Mark Grueber, Bronco consumer marketing manager. “Our answer was to design a lighter, more agile suspension system tuned to deliver more confident off-road capabilities without having to trade comfort and control.”

And if you consider yourself a hardened off-road adventurer, the HOSS system gets upgraded when you upgrade to the Badlands™ trim with the Bronco and Bronco Sport or the Sasquatch™ Package offered with the Bronco. When properly equipped, a Bronco Badlands™ offers best-in-class water fording up to 33.5 inches as well as best-in-class ground clearance.[1]

Got big plans for the rest of 2021 or looking ahead to 2022? Check out the all-new Bronco and Bronco Sport. You can learn more about these absolute hosses when you visit Shults Ford South in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Ford Develops Tech to Prevent Fogged Windshields

Ford Sensors | Shults Ford South | Pittsburgh, PA

If there’s one thing Pittsburghers know, it’s the pain of foggy, frosty windshields when cold weather hits. To alleviate the stress that burden causes, Ford has developed a new sensor system that can prevent fogged windshields before you lose visibility.

The system, called Windscreen Weather Station, recently rolled out on the Ford Kuga and Explorer in the United Kingdom. This advanced system, located near the rearview mirror, uses sensors to detect moisture in the air. It can then automatically engage the air conditioning to prevent the glass from fogging up.

“Waiting for your windscreen to clear after exercising is one of life’s little irritations — but driving without being able to clearly see the view ahead can be dangerous. This technology anticipates the problem and deals with it without the driver even knowing,” said Ingo Krolewski, Ford’s European climate control supervisor.

Ford notes that it rolled out the feature in Europe because COVID-19 has led to a major uptick in cycling and running. Breathing hard in cold weather can turn your glass opaque quickly — but the Windscreen Weather Station is that much quicker, helping stop the problem before it starts.

We’re eager to see what new technologies Ford has on the horizon to make our lives that much easier. If you’re interested in seeing what Ford has brought to the table for 2021 — whether it’s the all-new Ford F-150, adventurous Bronco Sport, or all-electric Mustang Mach-E — stop by Shults Ford South in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
