The next wave of connectivity is upon us with the newly announced next-generation Ford SYNC® 4 infotainment system. And what better way for Ford to bring its latest version of SYNC® to market than to debut it in its most exciting new vehicle: the new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E.
“Next-generation SYNC actively starts adapting to you as soon as you start using it, quickly learning your preferences and making personalized suggestions,” said Darren Palmer, Ford global director for battery electric vehicles. “It can suggest going to the gym if it learns Mondays are workout days or calling home if you do that every day after work. The result is a cloud-connected assistant and interface that’s intuitive, beautiful and ready for the future thanks to fast over-the-air updates.”
There’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to SYNC® 4, including cloud-based connectivity, conversional voice recognition technology, and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capabilities.
But maybe the most exciting aspect is the adaptability of the system to a variety of different screen sizes, including a massive 15.5-inch screen. As offered with the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the screen will be vertically oriented and include a tactile power and volume knob in the lower center. This large screen will feature the Adaptive Dash Cards function, which saves recently used and popular features in a horizontal row toward the bottom of the screen, allowing you to switch tasks more easily. And because SYNC® 4 features over-the-air update technology, the system never stops improving. Kind of like Ford, really.
