Want to keep your vehicle looking like it just came out of the showroom? Shortcuts just won’t do. You need to wash your car on a regular basis — and these tips will show you how. Take advantage of Pennsylvania’s beautiful summer weather by getting outside and giving your prized ride the care it deserves.
Use the right products
When you clean your vehicle, it’s important to use the best products for the job. Do your work with a cleaning product that’s safe to use on car paint, along with a soft mitt or sponge. You’ll also want to use wheel cleaner and a separate cloth for your wheels and tires.
Be thorough and careful
Working with care will help keep your vehicle looking sharp. For starters, don’t wash it when the body is too hot, or the soap and water may dry too quickly. Give it a good rinse first to get rid of any particles that could damage the paint. As you’re wiping the vehicle down, rinse your sponge frequently and work in long, steady strokes instead of circles to avoid scratching.
Don’t forget to dry
Hand-drying your vehicle is an important part of the washing process. Letting it air-dry can lead to spots, streaks, and blemishes, so work your vehicle over with a soft chamois or cloth instead.
As you wash your car frequently to keep up its appearance, make sure you’re getting it serviced regularly, too. Make an appointment with our service department at Shults Ford South in Pittsburgh and we’ll make sure your vehicle is running smoothly and living up to its like-new looks.
The all-new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 recently made its debut, showcasing a head-turning look and incredible performance features. With so many new features and enhancements, it seems this legendary pony car was well worth the 17-year wait.
A robust powertrain
The 2021 Mustang Mach 1 comes with a powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces a projected 480 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. The car incorporates Ford Performance Parts from the Mustang Shelby GT500 and Shelby GT350, including the TREMEC™ 3160 six-speed manual transmission. In addition, the 10-speed SelectShift™ automatic transmission is also available to enhance performance as you drive around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
A new take on an iconic design
Drawing inspiration from the original model, the grille of the 2021 Mustang Mach 1 has faux lamp elements and a shark-nosed section. New side grilles are situated under the turn signal lamps, while low-gloss magnetic accents complement the car’s bold appearance.
The legendary car makes no attempt to hide its muscle, proudly riding on Tarnished Dark-painted aluminum wheels. If you opt for the Handling Package, you can also appreciate the rear tire spats, new front wheel lip moldings and the higher downforce front splitter. With these components and more, 2021 Mustang Mach 1 models with the Handling Package have about 150 percent more downforce than a Mustang GT.

Looking to do some grilling in Pittsburgh this summer? Shults Ford South is providing you with its top 5 barbecue tips to make your cookout the envy of the neighborhood.
Tip 1: How to make picture-perfect burgers
You may have noticed while grilling in the past that your burgers puff up in the middle. Their rounded shape then makes it harder to keep toppings in place. Before you grille, use the back of a spoon to press down on the middle of the patties. After some time on the grill, they’ll be nice and flat.
Tip 2: Populate your skewers
Whether you’re making meat kabobs, veggie kabobs or a mix of both, don’t skimp on the ingredients. Make sure whatever ingredients you are using are nicely tucked together. If they touch, they’ll stay juicier longer. Just don’t cram them into each other.
Tip 3: Oil your veggies
Are your veggies drying out and sticking on the grill? Lightly coat them with olive oil before grilling them. This is particularly useful for bell peppers, onion slices, sliced squash and asparagus.
Tip 4: Be gentle with the rub
Rubbing seasoning into the meat before it goes on the grill is a great way to add flavor. However, make sure not to overdo it. You should apply the rub gently. If you do it too hard, it can damage the meat fibers and ruin the texture — not to mention over-season the food.
Tip 5: How to tell when chicken is ready
You should never undercook chicken, especially when grilling it for your friends and family. To check if it is ready, take one of the thickest pieces from the grille and look at the color of the meat near the bone or at the center. If it is still pink, it’s not yet done. Better yet, use a food thermometer to check the internal temperature reaches at least 175 degrees.
Next time you host a barbecue, think of your friends at Shults Ford South! We’re not saying you need to invite us or anything, but maybe bring some leftovers to the showroom if you have any.

Late last year, Ford announced it would be releasing a Heritage Edition Package for both the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350 and the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R models. This special edition package pays homage to 55 years of the Mustang fastback, which originally debuted as a 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 fastback coupe. Soon after its debut, Ken Miles made the Shelby a household name when he achieved victory behind the wheel at Le Mans on February 14, 1965.
The limited run of the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby Heritage Edition models will feature a Wimbledon White color with a Guardsman Blue side and racing strips that ride over the top. According to Ford, this is a tip of the hat to the original 1965 GT350 competition model that was developed by Carroll Shelby.
“Looking back on it, what Ford and Carroll Shelby created
back in the mid-’60s was so important to Mustang,” remarked Jim Owens, Ford
Mustang marketing manager. “With their authentic exterior livery, unique
appointments and performance Ken could have only dreamed of, the Mustang Shelby
GT350 and GT350R Heritage Edition Package vehicles are a meaningful tribute to
the legacy of the Shelby brand.”
Production has already begun on the 2020 Mustang
Shelby Heritage Edition. You can order yours while they’re available at Shults
Whether you’re fulfilling a New Year’s resolution or simply
wanting to turn over a new leaf ahead of spring, going vegetarian or vegan can
yield some great results for your health. Taking up a new lifestyle is easy in
the Steel City, which is home to several great restaurants that specialize in
meatless fare. Here are some of Pittsburgh’s best vegetarian and vegan
restaurants to consider this spring.
Onion Maiden specializes in vegetable-based Asian and American comfort foods with a punk-rock, heavy-metal twist. Even if you don’t get the allusions to music and pop culture, you’ll love staples like the Kale ’Em All, Bunn O))), and Aqua Poutine Hunger Force. One of the best things on the menu may very well be the Kimmy Gibbler, a vegan dog topped with house-made kimchi, Korean mayonnaise, and fried onion.
Milky Way is a Kosher and vegetarian pizzeria that offers up healthy takes on classic pizzas. The specialty pizzas alone are well worth checking out — try the Veggie Cheeseburger, Mediterranean, or Spinach Eggplant and see that you don’t want second. But there’s soe much more worth trying at Milky Way, including its “Kicked Up” veggie burgers, entrees like eggplant parmesan and tuna melts, and a range of paninis and sandwiches.

“Next-generation SYNC actively starts
adapting to you as soon as you start using it, quickly learning your
preferences and making personalized suggestions,” said Darren Palmer, Ford
global director for battery electric vehicles. “It can suggest going to the gym
if it learns Mondays are workout days or calling home if you do that every day
after work. The result is a cloud-connected assistant and interface that’s
intuitive, beautiful and ready for the future thanks to fast over-the-air
There’s a lot to be excited about when it
comes to SYNC® 4, including cloud-based connectivity, conversional voice
recognition technology, and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™
But maybe the most exciting aspect is the
adaptability of the system to a variety of different screen sizes, including a
massive 15.5-inch screen. As offered with the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the screen
will be vertically oriented and include a tactile power and volume knob in the
lower center. This large screen will feature the Adaptive Dash Cards function,
which saves recently used and popular features in a horizontal row toward the bottom
of the screen, allowing you to switch tasks more easily.
